Dental Implant emergencies
can arise despite careful planning and execution of dental implant procedures.
-Infection at the Implant Site:
Consequences: If an infection develops at the implant site, it can lead to peri-implantitis, which causes bone loss around the implant. If left untreated, peri-implantitis can lead to implant failure, requiring implant removal and additional treatments.
-Loose or Mobile Implants or Implant abutments and crowns:
Consequences: A loose or mobile implant may indicate a lack of osseointegration (implant integration with the bone). If not addressed promptly, the implant may fail to provide stable support for the prosthetic tooth or restoration, leading to functional and aesthetic issues. Loose implant crowns may lead to loosening of the implant underneath.
