Smile makeover
Creating the appearance of natural beauty requires a keen eye and attention to small details. Partnering with the best dental labs and London’s master ceramists has enabled me to transform smiles beautifully and naturally for years.
The idea behind a smile makeover is to improve the appearance of a patient’s smile through a custom combination of cosmetic dentistry procedures. Smile makeovers take more than the appearance of the teeth into consideration. Your dentist will also consider factors like your face shape, lips and age when recommending the best course of treatment.
How does a smile makeover work?
The process of a smile makeover begins with extensive consultation with your dentist, up to one hour assessment.
During this consultation, you will discuss what you like and dislike about your smile. We will use this information to present potential treatment options that could improve the appearance of your teeth and facial structure.
Treatments we will typically suggest for a smile makeover include teeth whitening, teeth re-contouring and bonding, teeth straightening and veneers.
Your dentist will then put together a treatment plan keeping your budget, priorities and desired results in mind.
What problems can be addressed by a smile makeover?
Crowded teeth or gaps – Any issues with the alignment of teeth can be addressed with orthodontic treatment. Where gaps between teeth are present braces with or without veneers may be an option.
Broken, worn or misshaped front teeth – The length, proportion and texture of the teeth can be treated with composite bonding for an aesthetic but preservative outcome.
Discoloured teeth - The appearance of discoloured teeth can easily be improved with professional tooth whitening and additional bonding or veneers if needed/wanted.Or white spots treatments with Icon infiltration.
Discoloured fillings or amalgam fillings - Old discoloured fillings can be carefully removed and replaced with new composite tooth coloured fillings and contoured to the shape of your natural teeth.
Missing teeth - A missing tooth could be replaced with an implant or a bridge, improving both function and aesthetics.
Many patients with missing teeth also have orthodontic treatment to create the right space for an implant and to straighten their remaining teeth. Tooth whitening is also an additional option to complete the smile makeover
Gummy smiles can be treated with gingivectomy to enhance the appearance of your smile. All the above issues can be addressed individually, in combination or all together in a smile makeover.
How much will a smile makeover cost?
Your smile makeover is unique to you and your needs, and we will specifically craft the entire process for you, including procedures, recovery time, materials used and any necessary upkeep.
The cost varies significantly from one individual to another. During your initial consultation, we will work with you and your budget and give you various options and we will respect your limitations throughout the process of developing your unique plan.
How can I maintain the results of my smile makeover?
Following your makeover, you will want to maintain the appearance of your newly updated smile.
The easiest way to do this is by practising good dental hygiene. Brushing twice daily, flossing, regularly visiting your dentist and hygienist and heeding their advice is key to maintaining optimum oral health.
You may also want to take advantage of maintenance products such as teeth whitening gels and retainers.
Additionally, avoiding smoking and limiting your intake of coffee, tea and red wine can help to keep your new smile bright.
